Pulse A Music Visualizer

July 11, 2009 · 1 Comment

update [04-Aug]: I built a GUI which allows you to manipulate the visualization in real time. Video to come soon.

I made this visualizer over a weekend. It’s built in Processing with the OpenGL 3D library.

The little circles, the dancers, are a basic implementation of a particle system built by Daniel Shiffman.

This was my first time working with the Sonia music library and OpenGL. Pulse will evolve in to a component of a larger interactive, generative piece I’m working on. I created the video with Snapz Pro X. I went this route because the MovieMaker Processing library slowed down the visuals and threw off the synchronization with the audio.
